The resulting products are trapped in Argon at 15 K using the rare gas matrix-isolation technique. Identification of the thermolysis products was done through the application of IR-spectroscopy. Therefore the measured IR-spectra were compared with calculated ones that based on equilibrium geometries of possible product molecules. These were found with ab-initio-calculation methods. Whereas experiments with X = N3 yields no measurable reactions, the thermolyses of the precursors with X = Cl, Br, Me follows a homogenous schema. Main product of the reaction is the galliummonohydride HGaX2 with X = Cl, Br, Me respectively, formed through an b-hydrogenelimination out of the starting material. The primary product HGaX2 undergoes further reaction in the gas phase resulting in the formation of molecules like H2GaX, GaX3 and GaX.</dc:description><dc:source>Aachen : Publikationsserver der RWTH Aachen University 124 S. : graph.
