abstract = {The architectural work of Wenche Selmer starting in the
Norwegian postwar period following a main creative period
until the 1990s was defined by a turning point in Norwegian
architecture. Marked by national search for identity and the
influence of international architectural movements, Wenche
Selmer had developed her own architectural language in
between tradition and modernism. She actively participated
in the architectural discussions ofher time. Through her
work and her teaching at the Oslo School of Architecture and
Design (AHO) she made a major contribution to the Norwegian
Architectural development and influenced the subsequent
generations of architects. Selmer was awarded in 1963 with
the Sundts Prize and in 1969 with the Norwegian Wood prize.
In 2013 she was nominated to belong to the 100 most
important women in Norway as a "Pioneer of Architecture".},
