This tumor moreover is linked to the highest rate of postoperative pneumonias which per se are associated with a high mortality risk. Aim: The aim of the present study is to find risk factors which might have an impact on postoperative pneumonias. Method: For this purpose, the data of 127 esophagus carcinoma patients, who underwent esophagus resection between 2011 and 2016, were retrospectively analyzed. As baseline served the data which were collected in context of the certification at the Center for Surgery of Esophagus and Upper Gastrointestinal Tract (CAOGI). During this study, those parameters were extended by collecting additional data from the internal dataset of the clinic (patients’ files, etc.). Results: The proportion of men was with 84.0 %F PUB:(DE-HGF)11 %9 Dissertation / PhD Thesis %R 10.18154/RWTH-2018-231968 %U https://publications.rwth-aachen.de/record/752245
