With increasing penetrations of photovoltaic (PV) and wind generations, the conventional power grids dominated by large machines are evolving towards purely power-electronic-based generator systems. However, interactions among power electronic converters, loads, and the grid bring new challenges to the stability of converter-based power systems. This work investigates the harmonic stability issue of three-phase grid-tied PV inverter systems, aiming to provide a comprehensive framework to model and study the complete system dynamics and to identify the reason of resonances. Control strategies are prosed to enhance the stability for converter-based power systems.
