In this context, a corpus (120 texts) of bilingual children's books in the language combinations German-French and German-Italian was analyzed, in order to describe the differences and the similarities in the linguistic encoding of emotions. This research combines a focus on both linguistic relativity and potentially universal mechanisms of conceptualization, like embodiment. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach to investigate and describe denotation and connotation.
