abstract = {Futures play a role in almost all scientific disciplines,
but are sometimes anticipated, without methods and concepts.
However, for a purposeful and comprehensible anticipation of
futures according to good scientific standards, tested
methods and concepts are of great importance, in order for
the anticipated futures not to be formulated too
tentatively. In the present work, this challenge is
addressed: In an interdisciplinary approach based on both
Futures Studies and Human Factors, approaches and methods
from these research disciplines are exemplarily examined
with regard to their suitability for a common concept (Part
I). Based on Part I a corresponding concept will be
developed (Part II), which will subsequently tested (Part
III) and finally critically discussed (Part IV). The
procedure is accompanied reflected in terms of systems and
action theory. The aim of this work is to derive, present
and test a new concept entitled prospective Personas and to
discuss the own approach in terms of system and action
theory. In order to meet this aim, the disciplinary outlines
of Futures Studies and Human Factors are presented (Part I).
Subsequently, two exemplary methods from both disciplines
are selected for interdisciplinary integration: The
Intuitive Logic Method as a scenario method, which is used
in Futures Research, and the Engaging Approach Method as a
persona method, which is used in User-Centered Design, a
design process applied in Human Factors Research. The two
methods are combined into a new methodological concept,
prospective Personas. In this concept, seven steps are
described, in which the empirical based development of
prospective personas are focused. Future ways of thinking,
behaviors and emotions of these very personas are developed
in the prospecting/scenarios (Part II). Afterwards, the
concept is empirically tested by means of semi-standardized
interviews conducted with platform operators, platform
workers, platform users as well as experts. The final result
of the testing is a total of four prospects for the field of
platform work in the year 2030 as well as two employee
personas, referred to as 'Anne' and 'Daniel' in the
presented work, which are developed into a total of eight
prospective personas (Part III). Finally, there is an
overarching discussion that summarizes the results and
provides a critical examination of the systems and action
theory framework (Part IV).The present work exemplifies how
potential weaknesses in persona and scenario research can be
addressed and reduced by a new approach. Described futures
of actors become thereby more concrete, tangible and
comprehensible, which results in a new
                      methodological-conceptual contribution to the
interdisciplinary research of futures. It is supported by
the accompanying system- and action-theoretical reflection.
At the same time, the concept of prospective personas
generates images of futures based on empirically elaborated,
modelled actors, and makes the description of futures
communicatively more tangible which enables a better
mediation and an increased contribution to the design of
                      futures.},
