abstract = {Electric vehicle production requires the use of new product
and production technologies that have not previously been
part of the portfolio of established automotive
manufacturers and suppliers. In many cases, companies cannot
rely on decades of experience, nor have technologies been
established in many areas. At the same time, increasing
demand requires the constant expansion of production
capacities. In the field of electric drives, production
systems are designed and developed in close cooperation with
machine and system manufacturers, whereby the solution to
production-related problems and challenges is usually the
responsibility of the machine and system manufacturers.
Short-cycle technological leaps and the problems that
increasingly occur with new technologies in production
operations often require unplanned changes to production
systems. These are difficult to plan due to the lack of
experience on the part of producers and the
customer-supplier relationship between producers and machine
and plant manufacturers when initially setting up production
systems. This thesis aims to take these aspects into
account. The research contribution of this work consists of
a methodology for planning technology substitutions in
existing production systems, while considering the lack of
experience on the part of responsible planners. The aim is
to provide a methodology that enables planners on the
producer side to identify the technical risks associated
with a production system change, to evaluate them from an
economical point of view and to develop risk-reducing
measures. In contrast to existing approaches, particular
attention is paid to the consideration of a multilateral
project constitution, the interactions to be considered
between production system changes and their effects on the
product, and the lack of experience. The present work is
motivated by current challenges in industrial practice and
is applied in the context of a case study from industry. For
reasons of manageability, care is taken to ensure that only
industry-standard software that is available on the market
