⇧ SPP 1962: Nichtglatte Systeme und Komplementaritätsprobleme mit verteilten Parametern: Simulation und mehrstufige Optimierung ⇧

Note: In den letzten Jahren konnten erstmalig mit Methoden kinetischer Gastheorie kontrollierbare Partikelsysteme beschrieben werden und damit auch neue Anwendungen wie zum Beispiel in Verkehrssimulationen betrachtet werden. Schwerpunkt dieses Forschungsprojekts ist die in der kinetischen Theorie beobachtbare Modellhierarchie zur Analysis und Numerik mehrskaliger und nichtglatter Kontrollprobleme zu untersuchen und zu nutzen, um neue Optimierungs- und Steuerungsresultate erhalten zu können.Das Arbeitsprogramm umfasst hierbei unter anderem die Analysis konsistenter Optimalitätsbedingungen in den vorhandenen Modellhierarchien, die numerische Analysis für Steuerungsaspekte, die insbesondere auf der höchsten Modellhierarchie neue Herausforderungen stellen, sowie numerische Verfahren für zeitdynamische nichtglatte Optimierungsprobleme auf allen Hierarchieebenen. Neben der zu untersuchenden Sensitivitäten nichtglatter kinetischer Gleichungen ergeben sich durch die vorhanden Skalen Fragestellungen für Randsteuerungsprobleme nichtlokaler hyperbolischer Gleichungen und schaltender Systeme.Die beteiligten Projektpartner aus Deutschland und Südafrika kooperierten bereits in der Vergangenheit in gemeinsamen Arbeiten zu hyperbolischen Gleichungen, in Austauschprogrammen und gemeinsam veranstalteten Tagungen.
